Mangaluru, Nov 22, 2015: The 10th International Children’s Film Festival, organised by the district administration in association with Children India, will be inaugurated at Town Hall on November 22.


film festivalThe screening of the movies will be held at 16 theatres in Dakshina Kannada and all the theatres in Udupi districts from November 23 to 26 between 9 am and 4 pm, said District In-charge Minister B Ramanath Rai, who spoke to media on Nov 21.

The valedictory and award distribution ceremony will be held at Malpe beach in Udupi on November 26, he added.

Children India Director Nanjunde Gowda said that 40 countries will be participate in the children’s film festival. All the films will have subtitles in English.

Nanjunde Gowda said that a camp on art of film and video editing will be held for the children at Pilikula on November 23 and 24. Films related to environment issues will be screened exclusively at Pilikula for four days from November 23 to create awareness among the children. On November 25, there will be an interaction with the experts on environment movies.

A well-known Sri Lankan children’s movie director Somarathne will be attending the children’s film festival. His movies have been given special emphasis while screening, he added.

Some of the movies to be screened are ’Little sparrow’ (91 minutes, Iran), ’A shawl to die for’ (21 minutes, English), ’Nikola Teslsa Secret’ (11 min, Croatia), ’The Tiger’ (14 minutes 46 second), ’Komal’ (10 minutes), ’The Gift’ (29 minutes), ’A story’ (8 min 12 second), ’Sanitation challenge’ (12 min 4 second), ’Shiffing under currents (112 minutes 6 seconds), ’Daptara (100 minutes), and ’Why did they come by train’ (14 minutes), ’Asiatic Lion’ (25 minutes, 30 seconds).
