Gopinath Nayak of Jyothi Cycles said that the bike weights only 6kgs and has 20 gears. The cycle can be dismantled and folded in just a few minutes. This brand is often used in international cross country competitions. The frame is made of black carbon, which is tougher than steel and lighter than any metal, and the tyres are of the rib button variety.

Trek Bicycle Corporation has its headquarters in Waterloo, Canada. Fire Fox, a UK-based franchise holder of the brand, has established its presence in India and Jyothi Cycles is one of its dealers. The company had couriered the various parts of the cycle and a mechanic from Mumbai had reassembled the parts.

Mr. Nayak said that Jyothi Cycles and Mr. D’Souza shared an excellent relationship with each other. The company had recognized his talents during the early phases of his career and had gifted him a cycle.
