Mangaluru, May 17, 2019: In the back drop of various religious heads calling for prayers for rains in and around Mangaluru after the MET department predicts delay and scarcity of SW monsoons; Rev Dr.Peter Paul Saldanha, the Bishop of Mangalore has with a deep sense of concern, sent a letter to all churches and Catholic institutions for fervent prayers and faith in God. The letter reads as follows :
"The weather forecast says that the monsoon is delayed. We are facing the problem of scarcity of water.
I earnestly request all the Parishes, Institutions and religious houses of men and women to implore God to be merciful towards us and grant rain.
Kindly organise prayers for the rain on this Saturday and Sunday,18 and 19 May 2019. We trust in the power of Lord Jesus to come to our aid."
