Case registered against Madrasa Teacher for Sexual Assualt.

Mangaluru: August 12, 2015: A case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act), 2012 has been registered against a religious teacher for alleged sexual harassment to a nine year old girl at a madrasa.

The incident occurred in Ullal police station limits. The accused has been identified as Mohammed Madani of Sajipa. He was a teacher at Permannur Darandabaagilu Madarasa. The accused is absconding. But the police arrested the member of the madarasa, Rafeeq in this case.

According to the complaint filed by the mother of the girl on Tuesday, the girl had gone to the madarasa at 6am and had come home crying at 7.30am, refusing to go back to the madarasa. When inquired, the girl had told the mother the teacher was touching her inappropriately and asking her to touch his beard. The mother also stated in the compliant that Mohammed used to threaten her, if she refused to do his bidding.

When the family members went to the madarasa, the teacher and the committee members had not given an ear to the complaint, hence she had approached the police on Tuesday night to file the complaint.
