Mangaluru, Dec 10, 2017: Two young women escaped the jaws of death by a hair’s breadth after their car rolled into the Phalguni river off the Maravoor bridge on December 10, Sunday. Both of them were rescued by the local residents.
The mishap occurred when the two were returning after visiting the Maravoor check dam. It is said one of the girl who was driving the car lost control over the vehicle resulting in the mishap.
If one of them hailed from Bajpe, another was from Kerala. It is learnt, they had rented a car from Bajpe to pick the parents of one of them from the city.
The car was later pulled out from the waters using a crane. Locals too lent a helping hand in the relief operation.
