Mangaluru, April 15, 2018: Aid Without Religion Trust along with professionals, students, social activists and like-minded citizens will be holding a candle light vigil near the DC office on April 16 at 6.30 pm to protest against the Unnao and Kathua incidents and the rising cases of crimes against women and children. There would be no slogans or criticisms against any political party during the programme.
The mother of Sowjanya, a student of SDM College, Ujire who was raped and murdered in 2010 will also participate in the protest.
Social activist Vidya Dinker who gave details regarding the candle light vigil said there was a need for the society to raise voice against incidents like the one reported from Kathua. She also called upon all citizens to join the candle light vigil.
