CREDAI accords top priority to quality construction

Mangalore, June 13, 2011: The Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI),  the apex body for private real estate developers in India, is according top priority towards  maintaining quality in the construction of residential complexes.

According to Sushil Mantri, President of the State Chapter of CREDAI, the  Confederation has 10,000 members all over the nation and that a guidelines formula is being envisaged on constructing buildings of good standard and quality.

He said CREDAI has been providing technical advice and all possible cooperation to builders  on a regular basis in the backdrop of the frequently changing government policies on construction industry.

 Stating that the flat culture was the in thing in southern India at present, he added that such a culture had developed in Mumbai and Delhi decades ago. He also claimed that there was a greater demand for flats in south India.

He further said the sand mining policy of Karnataka has not had any significant impact on the construction activities. Mantri informed that sand was presently being secured from neighbouring states and other alternate means to see that the construction activities were not hampered.

On the underworld threat to builders, he said the CREDIA members would face this challenge unitedly with government help. “Steps are being taken to  prevent the underworld dons from interfering, by  undertaking all our dealings within the legal framework,” he said.

KC Naik, President of the Mangalore Chapter of CREDAI and  National Committee Member Balakrishna Hegde were also present at the press meet.
