CPI(M) condemns ANF for killing of Jokatte youth

Mangalore, Apr 23, 2014: The District committee of the CPI(M) staged a demonstration in front of the DC office in the city on April 22 Tuesday, condemning the killing of Kabeer of Jokatte by personnel of the Anti-Naxal Force near Shringeri check post.

 

 

The protestors who shouted slogans against the ANF demanded stern action against those responsible for the killing and to entrust the case to the CBI. The party has also demanded a compensation of Rs 30 lakh to Kabeer family.

KR Sriyan, State CPI(M) Secretariat Board Member has said  that only  illegal cattle transportation was an offence and not cattle transportation by itself. There is a need   to sensitise people in this regard, he added.

Vasanth Achari, CPI(M) State Committee Member who also spoke said the Congress was not ensuring justice to the Muslim community who have been supporting the party since long for the sole reason that the party was secular.

J Balakrishna Shetty, Sunil Kumar Bajal, Muneer Katipalla, BK Imtiyaz,  CPI(M) leaders, Corporator Dayanand Shetty, former corporator Jayanthi Shetty and others participated in the protest.
