Mangaluru, April 13, 2017 : DYFI and CPI(M) activists picketed the Mangaluru City Corporation office building at Lalbagh on April 13, Thursday  demanding early solution to the drinking water problem that has arisen in the city limits.

The protestors alleged that the Mayor  was creating an artificial scarcity of water by bowing before the tanker mafia. They also claimed that there was sufficient water in Tumbay dam .

The police detained as many as 32 activists who picketed the MCC office and later released them.

DYFI State President Muneer Katipalla, BK Imtiyaz, CPI(M) City district unit Secretary Sunil Kumar Bajal,  DYFI District Secretary Santosh Bajal and many others participated in the protest.

Never use the public for your benefit. Has the Mayor used the public for her selfishness or is the public having the misunderstanding? What is the need of the protest if there is a genuine shortage of water in Thumbay?
