Mangalore, July 29, 2014: Cyril Gregory Sequiera popularly CGS Taccode was honoured with Konknni Kutam Bahrain on Saturday July 26 at St Sebastian Hall, Bendore Mangalore.


CGS Taccode is known for his hilarious writings in Konkani. His popular books on humour include Chirmulyo, Sullsulle, Tambdde Gulle, Bullbulle, Hai Hai Dubai, Maskiryo, Kuchilyo, Sursuryo, Grachar etc. His popular hilarious columns in Konkani periodicals are Fugettyo, Fokanna etc. Cyril has also a short story collection called Dukham. Pitull, Chaar Disancho Sansar, Eklem Ekchurem, Diana, Badyachi Baail, Mary Magdel, Haschengi Rodchem, Girgi Mirsang,are some of his plays. He has also penned lots of hilarious skits.

He has been the sub-editoro of popular Konkani Weekly RAKNNO. He has also worked as editor of Konkani periodicals namely Kannik and Umallo. He has won number of awards from prestigious organisations.

The Konknni Kutam Bahrain award was presented to CGS by Shri Pundalik Naik, president of Goa Konkani Academy. Columnist and professor of Kannanda Dr Narendra Rai Derla, well known konkani writer Eddie Netto were also present at the occasion.

Local convener of Konkani Kutam Richard Moras who spoke about the relevance and importance of the award.

President of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy Shri Roy Castelino, Mandd Sobhann gurkar Shri Eric Ozario, Mangalore MLA Shri J R Lobo  Former Raknno Editor Fr. Mark Walder,  Titus Tacode, Leslie Rego,Vitori Karkla were also present at the occasion.
