CCB cops foil murder attempt; arrest 5 persons at Adyar

Mangaluru, Feb 3, 2016 : The CCB Police of Mangaluru have foiled a murder plot with the arrest of five persons on February 3, Wednesday at Adyar.  Police have also seized  the Maruti Omni car of the accused apart from two daggers, three machetes and seven mobile phones which were in their possession.


Those arrested are  Zia alias A K Riyaz (30), of Adyar, Ajmal alias Ajju (22), Mushtaq Ahmed (21) and Mohammed Fazal (21)  of Kannur and Basit (21), a resident of Pandeshwar. The arrests were made by a team led by CCB Inspector Valentine D’Souza.

All the arrested are said to be wanted criminals. If Riyaz had 12 cases against him including that of murder of Ejaz in 2014 at Kannur, another accused Ajmal  was out on bail just a month ago. He too has several  theft cases against him and is also said to be an accused in the Ejaz murder case. The other two accused namely  Mushtaq and Fazal were also reportedly involved  in the Ejaz murder case, while Basit has an attempt to murder case against  him.
