Buses fail to use bus terminal, traffic chaos in Puttur

Puttur, June 20, 2016: It is a regular sight in Puttur where passengers alight buses in the middle of the road; this has been the cause of traffic jams and accidents and so on.

Even after the construction of a modern bus terminal, buses stopped on the road itself and only a few of them stop at the bus terminal. Sources say that the problem has arisen due to the unhealthy competition between KSRTC and private buses.

Several buses stopping on the road has caused a lot of problem and the public opine that the only solution to the problem was to have traffic police at the junctions. The bus crew are un-cooperative and look only for the easy way, flouting all regulations.

Why hasn’t the Government made it compulsory for the buses to enter the terminus. It is safe for the passengers too. Action has to bee taken on the drivers regarding this.

The city itself is small with narrow road and if the buses do not use the terminus the people will use it for parking . Now itself we can see the vehicles being parked .
