Mangaluru, Sep 2, 2016: The city is  wearing a deserted look with private as well as government buses off the roads on September 2, Friday in support of the nationwide strike call given by various  trade unions demanding fulfillment of their several demands. Autorickshaws  are also  off the roads.  The otherwise busy Central Market area too is missing the usual hustle and bustle with almost all shops  remaining closed.

Two KSRTC buses were also stoned at Padil and KS Rao Road. Some incidents of burning of tyres on roads were also reported.

Members and leaders of various trade unions staged a protest in front of the DC office. CITU leader Balakrishna Shetty, Sunil Kumar Bajal, Vasanth Acharya and others addressed the protestors.

Udupi is also observing a bundh. Most buses and autorickshaws are also off the roads.
