New Delhi, Feb 01, 2017: Finance Minister Atun Jaitley’s proposals for the Union Budget for 2017-18 will lead to some goods and services being costlier, while some things may become cheaper.
Cigarettes, pan masala, cigar, cheroots, beedis, chewing tobacco will cost more
Silver coins and medallions to be more expensive
Cashew nuts (roasted and salted) to be costlier
Mobile phones can become more expensive
LED lamp components will be more expensive
Aluminum ores and concentrates to be dearer
Printed circuit board used in making mobile phones to cost more
Air tickets will cost more making air travel more expensive
Wind operated energy generator to cost less
POS machines card and fingerprint readers will cost less
Booking railway tickets online will cost less
Fuel-cell based power generating systems to be cheaper
LNG: Liquefied natural gas to be cheaper
RO membrane elements for household usage to be cheaper
There is not extra levy on liquor or beer, so there will be little change in what it costs.
