Boy missing for 3 years traced in Mumbai, through Facebook, rescued

Udupi, Oct 14, 2017 : Manipal police trace a boy  missing for three years in Mumbai , reunited with parents through a social networking site.

The boy is identified as Prem Kiran(13), son of Shridhar K Amin of Hudco colony in Manipal.

Sources said that Prem Kiran had gone missing since January 2, 2015, family searched for the boy and they could not find him. Shridhar had filed a complaint in Manipal station  on Januray 31, said his son had left home saying he was going to MIT groungs  to play, but did not return back.

During investigation, police came across a Facebook profile which seemed to be that of the boy.With help of the Cyber Security Cell, the details were obtained and he was tracked down.

On interrogating the boy reavealed the fact that he was not interested in studies, had left home to work and earn his living. He had been working in a Cnateen in Mumbai ,there was no involvenment of any oraganisations nor was kidnapped by anyone. He had left home with his own wish. He also said he  was happy to be reunited with his parents and promised to stay with them.
