Blue Whale rumours : No complaint lodged, clarifies Police Commissioner

Mangaluru, Sep 2,2017 :Though rumours are agog that a student of a school in Mangaluru had self-inflicted injuries to his hand after falling prey to the Blue Whale challenge, Mangaluru City Police Commissioner T R Suresh has clarified that so far the police have not received any complaint either from parents, educational institutions or public regarding any such incident .

He also stated that police officials will be instructed to sensitize the students on the dangers of this game during their visits to schools to create awareness on traffic and such other issues.

It may be recalled here that there were rumours that a ninth standard student of a prestigious school had caused injuries to his hands by playing this game and the same came to the notice of his parents when they found their son’s behaviour suspicious.

It is also stated that the student is presently being provided counselling.
