The project of recording the New Testament was undertaken by Sandesha Foundation in response to a long-felt need not only to read the New Testament, but also to listen to it and preserve it for the future generations. This mega project, which commenced on Dec 14, 2009, was completed on March 18, 2010.

The New Testament has been recorded in 2 audio CDs in MP3 format. One of them comprises an introduction by the bishop of Mangalore, the four Gospels, and the Acts of the Apostles. The duration is 14 hours, 26 minutes, and 35 seconds. The other CD comprises the letters of St Paul, St James, St Peter, St John, St Jude, and the Revelation. The duration is 10 hours, 41 minutes, and 55 seconds.

The total recording is of duration 25 hours, 8 minutes, and 30 seconds. The reading has been done by Fr Denis D’Sa, Fr Joseph Martis, Fr Valerian Mendonca, Leslie Rego, Vincent Alva, Jude Noronha, Sweeton Veigas, Concepta Fernandes Alva, Babita Pinto, and Jane Sequiera. The entire project lasted 44 days from Dec 14, 2009 to March 18, 2010--361 hours and 15 minutes.

The sound engineer and recordist was Ashith Pinto. The CDs were recorded at Saptaswara Digital Recording Studio at Sandesha. Zeena D’Souza and Maxim Fernandes lent their support for the recording. Fr. Valerian Mendonca, the director of Sandesh, guided and directed the project. The producer is Sandesha Foundation of Culture and Education.

The two CDs are packed in a snug case with a beautiful cover design. Sandesha Foundation hopes that the CDs will be useful to the educated as well as the uneducated members of the Konkani-speaking Christian community
