Bishop inaugurates renovated church in Valencia

Mangalore, May 22, 2012 : Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza, bishop of Mangalore Diocese, inaugurated and blessed the renovated St. Vincent Ferrer Church of Valencia and the new adoration chapel and new presbytery and hall on May 20, Sunday. The bishop was also the main celebrant of the Holy Mass held that evening.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dr. Vincent Concessao, the archbishop of New Delhi, felicitated donors and sponsors who contributed more than Rs. 1 lakh for the new building. He also blessed the adoration chapel and placed the Holy Sacrament in its sanctuary.

The bishop also released a book of coupons worth Rs. 1000 as part of a fund-raising activity for the renovation of the church. The bumper prize of the lucky draw will be a Honda Brio car worth Rs. 4.5 lakh.

The Mandd Sobhann dance troupe presented a cultural show on this occasion. A sumptuous community meal marked the end of this grand event, which attracted a huge crowd of 2,500 people.
