Bishop Aloysius Paul D Souza inaugurates new presbytery

Bantwal, May 12: Bishop of Mangalore Diocese Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza inaugurated the brand new presbytery at St. Patrick’s parish, Siddakatte, when he made a pastoral visit to the parish to solemnize the sacrament of confirmation of the children of the parish. 

MLA Ramanath Rai and Santhosh Kumar, the president of the zilla panchayat, were the guests of honour. The bishop felicitated Gerald D’Costa, the president of the presbytery building committee, the donors, the contractors, as well as the workmen. Fr. Austin Peter Peris, the vicar of the Moodubidri deanery; and Ratnakumar Chowta, member of the taluk panchayat, were present on the dais. 

Fr. Valerian M. D’Souza, the parish priest of Siddakatte, thanked all the parishioners for their support. He specially thanked Sunil Sequiera and Michael D’Costa, who played an important role in the construction work of the presbytery. 

Ronald Fernandes, the vice president of the Siddakatte parish council, welcomed the gathering. Michael D’Costa proposed the vote of thanks. Sunil Sequiera compered the programme. A fellowship meal marked the end of the programme.
