Birthday party at river side turns tragic; 3 students drown

Uppinangady, Jan 01 2019: In a tragic incident, three college students who had  been to the Netravathi river banks to celebrate the birthday of one of them  have met a watery grave on December 31, Monday evening.

The deceased are Firzan  of Nekkilady, Mohammad Shahir of Perne and Muhammad Suhail of Nelyadi. All the three were second PUC students of Uppinangady Govt PU College.

 It is said  the three  had been to the Netravathi  river banks on Monday evening to celebrate the birthday of Firzan.

However, when the  trio did not return home their families began enquiring. It was then that one of their classmates revealed that they had been to the river side with the birthday  cake. After an intensive search the bodies  the three were traced late night.

Uppinangady Police have registered a case.
