Bike rider arrested for injuring cop

Mangaluru, Oct 26, 2017: The CCB Police have arrested a youth identified as  Abdul Muneer alias Muneer (22), a resident  of Bajpe on the charges of  injuring a policeman by riding his motorbike past the cop despie the latter signalling him to stop  on October 22, evening.

 

It has been gathered that the  rider was not  wearing a helmet and so was asked by Manjunath, Traffic Inspector  of North station and the constable Cheluvaraj to stop  but of no avail. Constable Cheluvaraj was injured in the incident. Acting upon a complaint by Inspector Manjunath, the CCB took up investigation into the case and arrested Abdul Muneer on October 25.

Interrogations of the accused revealed that he had at least ten cases against him including cases of chain snatching and bike theft.

Muneer was also an accused in the case of Ganesh Shetty murder reported from the district prison in 2015.

Sources revealed that he was released on bail three months ago and that the police had also opened a rowdy sheet in Barke station against him.
