Bike ambulance, air ambulance to be a reality in near future : Khader

Mangaluru, Dec 31, 2014 :  The proposal of the  government to introduce air ambulances to  help people in need of urgent medical attention has received a favourable response, informed State Health and Family Welfare Minister UT Khader. He said nearly three companies of NRIs have evinced interest in the project.

Speaking to reporters in the city, the minister  such air ambulances  can be used to assist accident victims.

The helicopters which will be used for this facility will be on a trial for three months, he said adding  a decision would be taken later on as to whether the facility should be extended   to the entire state. He assured that the facility will be a reality by next November.

 

The Health Minister also stated that bike ambulance facility will be available in Bengaluru by January end. Initially ten bike ambulances will operate out of the total 30 sanctioned. The facility will be later on  introduced in Belagavi, Hubballi, Mangaluru and Mysuru, he informed.
