Mangaluru, May 28: Addressing the media here on Thursday, May 28, Prakash Javedkar, Union Minister of State of Environment and Climate Change said the biggest achievement of Narendra Modi government in the past one year is winning the trust and confidence of the poor in the country.
The Minister said The First year of Modi Government has brought ’Bahut achche din" (better days) for all the people of our country. The country has seen Major achievement & vivid development in all the sectors. Corruption has been controlled and Prime Minister Modi has converted every scam of the Congress regime into a success story.
The Modi government has not only been a hope for the people of India but also has revolutionized progress in rural India and the people have accepted the new change. The government has also boosted the Job opportunity in the country he added. Union Minister said that the Narendra Modi government believes in the mantra “delay is out, decision is in”, and asserted that the job of the government is not to create roadblocks but to give impetus to entrepreneurship and industry.
Another achievement of the NDA government was it’s ability to create confidence and hope among people by giving them social security. In the first year of the government has set major achievement in bringing the unbanked into banking. In just a period of 100 days 15 crore Jhandhan accounts has been opened which itself a world record.
On May 10th three major schemes has been launched by Modi to give social security to the people of India. Atal Pension Yojana- Pension between Rs 1,000 and Rs 5,000 a month, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana -Accidental death and disability cover of Rs 2 lakh, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana - A pure protection term insurance cover which pays Rs 2 lakh to dependents in the event of the policyholder’s death.
In addition to that he said the people has tremendously responded to the scheme and in just 20 days 8 crore premium has been paid by account holders.
Speaking about the future plans he said By 2022 when independent India celebrates its 75th Independence Day, every Indian will have house of his own.
About the Kasturirangan report, Javedkar said "The Western Ghats has natural beauty and we need to protect it. There are about 7,000 villages and we will ask the villagers what kind of development they do not want. We have asked all the states under coming under this to submit reports, and once they give their reports, we will do the needful by the year end."
On Bengaluru lake pollution issue, he said, "Bengaluru is a beautiful city filled with lakes. The reason for foamy water (in Varthur lake) is that buildings have left sewage connection to lakes. The ministry is looking into the issue seriously and will take serious action against them.
