Bhasker Shetty case: CID gathers vital evidence to prove murder

Udupi, Sept 25, 2016: The CID which is investigating into the sensational businessman Bhasker Shetty murder case  has gathered vital information  regarding the case. It has been learnt that the investigation team is almost certain that Bhasker Shetty’s body was burnt in the Homa kunda by the assailants.

 

The CID team is also learnt to have gathered information that the accused priest Niranjan Bhat had  revealed about the murder with an acquaintance named Satish Poojary and had also lured him with cash, car and a flat, provided  he admits that he committed the act.

Sources said the CID team has traced this man who mostly resides in Mumbai and have secured substantive evidence from him. His statement has been recorded  before the  Magistrate on Friday as per the Criminal Procedure Code 164. This statement is likely to be vital evidence to the murder.

Meanwhile, it is learnt the iron rod which was traced by the CID team in a rivulet recently was the rod which was actually used to hit Shetty’s head, while the rod which was  traced a month ago was a curtain rod which was used for cleaning purposes after the  murder.

As of now nearly one and a half months have passed since investigation has begun and the tea has another one and a half month’s time to file the charge sheet.
