Moodbidri, Jan 25, 2019: Beluvai Gram Panchayat President  Somanath Kotian who is also a Bajrangdal leader has been arrested by the Moodbidri police  on the charges of plotting the murder of Imtiyaz (29), a hotelier of Gantalkatte who is one of the accused in Prashanth Poojary murder case.

The arrested Somanath has been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody for 15 days.

Imtiyaz who is out on bail in the Prashanth Poojary case has been running a small hotel in Gantalkatte. On September 24 last year an attempt was made on his life by some men who had entered his hotel in the guise of customers. Police had made a few arrests in this case and eventually learnt that Somanath had hatched this plot.
