Belthangady: Frustration drives young housewife to suicide along with kid

Belthangady, June 12, 2015: In a tragic incident, a young housewife from Karambalu in Shirlalu reportedly committed suicide by jumping into a well along with her two month old baby on June 9, Tuesday night. Sources said frustration in life owing to some post-surgery  complications  had driven her to the extreme step.

The deceased are Chandravathi (29) and  her baby Chirag. Chandravathi who  was the daughter of Birmana Poojary  of Shirlalu, was given in marriage to   Chidanand from Kunjaru in Aryapu village. Chirag is her second child and she already has a four year old son.

It has been gathered that Chandravathi had a caesarean surgery for both the deliveries.

However, after her second delivery, she suffered from constant stomach pain and there was no relief despite consulting different doctors and hospitals in Belthangady and Mangaluru.

Finally, a scan done at a hospital in Moodbidri revealed that sutures were left inside her body during the surgery. Though Chandravathi was given treatment for the same, stomach pain continued to bother her eventually forcing her to take an extreme step, said sources.

Family sources said she did not face any other problem.
