Belthangady: Cattle smuggling vehicle overturns at Mundaje; 6 cows die

Belthangady, June 07, 2019: Six cows which were being smuggled in a car lost their lives after the car which went out of control of its driver overturned and fell into a ditch at Mundaje during the wee hours of June 7, Thursday. The car was reportedly heading towards Ujire from Charmady when the accident took place.
The car had a number plate of Bengaluru registration- KA05MQ4824 which is suspected to be a duplicate number plate or a stolen one. Those in the car have however escaped soon after the mishap. The car was badly mangled in the mishap.
A packet of bread was found inside the car and the suspicion is that the cattle might have been fed with some intoxicant that rendered them unconscious so that they could be crammed inside the vehicle
