Mangalore, May 18: The Barke police have arrested Manish Kumar (23) of Ballal Bagh for being involved in the murder of Senthivelu (23), whose body was found at Mannagudda on Tuesday.

The deceased who was originally from Tamil Nadu had settled down in Kujattabail and was a construction worker in the city. Manish had borrowed Rs. 4000 from Senthivelu a few months ago, and Senthivelu had been pestering Manish to return the money.


Manish and Senthivelu had an argument regarding the matter on Monday. Senthivelu had a couple of friends with him at that time, who threatened to assault Manish with stones. However, Manish fought them and they fled from the place. He then used the same stones to batter Senthivelu’s face, before fleeing from the scene.


Manish was arrested and produced in court. Presently, Senthivelu’s body is in the Wenlock Hospital morgue, and his family has been informed about his murder.
