Bantwal : Youth attempts to molest college girl, trapped by locals

Bantwal, Feb 10, 2015: A person named Raghu (24) of Bayaru Peruvodi Patla was trapped by the public and handed over to the police after he reportedly tried to outrage the modesty of a girl who was on way home from college on February 9, Monday night. The incident reportedly took place in an isolated area near the Maanila Society.

raghu vittla The girl had alighted a bus and was walking towards home when the accused reportedly stalked her and demanded her mobile phone number. He even allegedly tried to snatch her back and held his hand tight over her mouth to prevent her from screaming.

Though the accused fled on seeing a jeep approaching that way, soon a search was launched for him by the locals on gathering information about the incident. He was later traced in the attic of a house and handed over to the police.

A case has been registered by the Vittal police. The accused is learnt to be an already married man.
