Bantwal: Sand truck collides with motor bike- Two Injured

Mangaluru June 15, 2016: Two persons suffered serious injuries after a sand truck rammed into their motorbike at Jakribettu near Bantwal on Tuesday night June 14.
Santhosh (22) and Ashwath (21) resident of Guruvayanakere of Belthangady Taluk were seriously injured in this accident. They shifted to private hospital in Mangaluru.
It is said that they were on the way to Guruvayankere and halted the bike by the side of the road at Jakribettu before sand lorry with high speed from opposite direction rammed their motor bike, locals immediately shifted them to private hospital for further treatment.
Locals Protest
The situation turned violent who were frustrated by the rash driving of the sand truck. They said that illegal sand mining and transportation has been going on and sand trucks have become reason for several accidents. The protest gave rise to tension in the area for some time.
Bantwal Traffic Police SI Chandrashekaraih visited the spot and brought the situation under.
