Bantwal : Pedestrian killed in car accident, driver held

Bantwal, Dec 19, 2016: Driver in hit and run case that killed 59 year old near Loretto Padav in Bantwal on December 19, Monday was arrested by Bantwal police.
Ramond Fernandes(59) is the deceased. Fernandes was killed instantly as speeding Omni van knocks him and the driver flees from the spot without halting the vehicle. He was rushed to hospital by locals but was proclaimed dead.
The eyewitness says that the negligence of the driver is the reason for the accident. Case was registered by Bantwal police and have finally been successful in arresting the car driver Naveen Poojary near Siddakatte .
He was produced before court and remanded judicial custody of 15 days. Investigations are in progress.
