Bantwal: Man in drunken stupor kills mother

Bantwal, Feb 20, 2013: In a shocking case of murder reported from Vittalpadnur village in Bantwal taluk, a middle aged man brutally killed his very own mother, under the influence of alcohol, on the night of February 19, Tuesday.

 

 

 

 

The incident is learnt to have taken place after the accused Dombayya Poojari (51) entered into an altercation with his aged mother Sankamma. However, soon their quarrel ended in a cold blooded murder when Dombayya picked up a wooden club and thrashed his mother. He later even tried to burn the body and destroy evidence.

Sources said Dombayya used to engage in frequent quarrels with his mother for not earning and used to harass and torture her. Fed up with the quarrel of the mother and son duo,   Dombayya’s wife Lalitha along with her two children had spent the night in a nearby hill. However, when they returned in the morning, they found the old woman dead.

The accused  has been arrested. Investigations are in progress.
