Bantwal : Congress worker found hanging in house; family says it’s a ’murder’

Bantwal, Mar 29, 2016: A Congress worker from Bantwal has been found dead in his house at Adyarkatte on March 28, Monday morning. If the body of 38 year old Iqbal was found hanging in the kitchen, his family members including his wife, after noticing blood stains in the hands and trousers of Iqbal and injury marks on the neck, have suspected this to be a case of suicide.

hanging The deceased Iqbal had actively campaigned for the party during the recent Panchayat elections. The exact cause of his death is yet to be ascertained.

Iqbal was alone at home when he reportedly took the drastic step. His wife and kids were away at Ujire since a week to attend a function. However, when Iqbal did not receive her calls since Sunday, his wife grew anxious and returned home only to find Iqbal hanging. It is learnt, the rear  door of the  house remained unbolted.

Family members allege that Iqbal’s feet were also touching the ground.

Police are investigating the case based on a complaint filed by Iqbal’s brother Shamir who   has suspected this to  be a case of murder.

The police has to investigate the case. The crimes are increasing as the people lack the fear for our law and order.
