Mangalore Jan 30, 2016: Senior Congress leader Janardhana Poojary has demanded the resignation of Ballary District in-charge Minister and State Labour Minister PT Parameshwar Naik in the wake of the controversy revolving over the transfer of DySP Anupama Shenoy.
Speaking to the Press at Congress Party office on January 30, Saturday Poojary said Anupama Shenoy was a sincere officer who launched a crackdown against sand mining. She refused to protect a perpetrator as per the demands of Parameshwar Naik resulting in her transfer, he said
Poojary further stated that the behavior of the Minister has left the Congress party embarrassed. Siddarammaih cannot be mum anymore regarding the issue and should initiate stern action against Parameshwar Naik, he demanded.
He also said that Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi has proved his simplicity and concern in securing justice by joining hunger protest against Rohit Vemula suicide case. The BJP is making every possible effort to prove that Rohit Vemula was not a dalit, Poojary said. ’’Till today Modi , Smriti Irani and Venkaiah Naidu have not chosen to visit Hyderabad to know the hidden truth behind the suicide case. This is a disgrace for Modi and his party, he added.
