BJP stages protest; seeks reduction in KSRTC bus fares

Mangaluru, Nov 11, 2014 : the BJP which has demanded a reduction in KSRTC bus fares, has on November 11, Tuesday staged a dharna in front of the KSRTC bus stand at Bejai.

Yogish Bhat, former MLA who spoke on the occasion questioned why the KSRTC which does not hesitate to increase fares no sooner fuel prices go up, fails to reduce the fares when the fuel prices go down.

Speaking on the occasion, Umanath Kotian, BJP leader hit out at the KSRTC for not reducing the fares despite the reduction in diesel price twice. He said the BJP would go in for severe protest if  the State Road Corporation failed to reduce the fare.

Monappa Bhandari, former MLC also spoke. BJP leaders including Pushpalatha Gatti, Roopa D Bangera, Corporator, Sanjeeva Matandoor and others participated in the protest.
