Mangalore, Sep 22, 2015 : Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has slammed the state government for its failure to solve the problem arising out of power shortage despite the nearing of Dasara festival as well as exams for students.

Participating in a protest organised by the District unit of the BJP in front of the MESCOM office near RTO on September 22, Tuesday, Nalin   also demanded the resignation of Sate Energy Minister DK Shivakumar for his failure to solve the power problems.

The Government has gifted Kattale Bhagya to the people, he said  and also criticised the   government for   going ahead with the Yettinahole Project.

Referring to farmers’ suicides, he said if there is no improvement in the situation, the day may not be far off when farmers from the southern  part  of the state also  chose the extreme step.  The energy minister should take immediate remedial measures or else resign, he said.

Bhandari invites Poojary to BJP :Monappa Bhandary, former MLC who also spoke accused the Congress government of failing to keep up its promise of supply 24x7 power to the state.

He said the party welcomed former union minister and Congress leader Janardhana Poojary for his comments against Yettinahole project. He said “Poojary is welcome to join the BJP and then speak against the Congress.”

Several party leaders including Satish Kumpala, Zilla Panchayat Vice President, K Jayaram Shetty, District Spokesperson and others participated in the protest.

Meanwhile, senior Congress leader B Janardhana Poojary who refused to immediately comment on the BJP’s invitation to him to join the party, said he would  soon convene a press meet to make a public statement about it.
