BJP’s achievements in state are zero, declares Poojary

Mangalore, May 30: Flaying the BJP-led state government, B. Janardhan Poojary, the former union leader, said that, although the BJP is celebrating its third successful year in power, its achievements in the state of Karnataka are zero.

Addressing reporters at a press meet held at Press Club on May 30 Monday, Poojary said that the BJP used Operation Kamala to murder the Indian Constitution, adding that even the Supreme Court criticized the government of Karnataka by calling it “the most corrupt government.” He also commented that the BJP is now losing its golden opportunities by indulging in corruption and harrassment and by criticizing common people and opposition leaders.

Commenting on the Lokpal Bill, Poojary said that the Lokpal Bill will not make any sweeping changes as soon as it is implemented because corrupt ministers such as CM B. S. Yeddyurappa will very much be in existence and will try to control even the Lokpal Bill.

Responding to the speeches of K. S. Eshwarappa, the chairman of the state unit of BJP, and CM B. S. Yeddyurappa, in which they had commented that the Congress had never worked for the welfare of the state as the BJP has during these 3 years, he challenged the BJP to make a list of the schools, houses for the poor, water irrigation systems, bridges, and other developmental activities of the Congress during the past years and to state if the BJP has matched these activities successfully. The BJP simply cannot compete with the revolutionary changes made by the Congress party in the banking and education sectors, Poojary claimed.

Stating that the Supreme Court’s order should have squashed the BJP, he said that the state government should be ashamed of itself since its speaker decided to disqualify 16 of the MLAs who had elected him to power.
