BJP leaders detained for protesting against Tipu Jayanthi

Mangaluru Nov 10, 2016: BJP leaders who thronged the Zilla Panchayath building to protest against the Tipu Jayanathi celebration there on Thursday November 10. Police who intervened have thwarted the protest and detained the protestors.

BJP leaders including MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik, Monappa Bhandary, Sanjeev Matandoor, Roopa D Bangera were amongst the detained. Total of 142 BJP members have been detained.

At present Section 144 has been imposed in the district till November 12th to avoid untoward incident.

First of all Tippu Jayanthi does not need to be celebrated in our country , There are so many other leaders if we go on. This is just to disturb the peace

They could not stop them from celebrating Tippu jayanthi . What is the need to celebrate this ? It is his Jayanthi worth celebrating
