Mangaluru, Feb 18, 2021: State BJP Spokesperson and former MLC Capt. Ganesh Karnik has accused former chief ministers Siddaramaiah and H D Kumaraswamy of issuing irresponsible statements relating to construction of Ram Mandir at Ayodhya and collection of donations for the purpose. Karnik also demanded that the two leaders should tender apology to the people of the state.
Speaking to reporters at the party office in the city on February 18, Thursday, Karnik said the fund raising drive for the noble task is being held in a transparent manner.
He said the statement of Kumaraswamy aimed at appeasing one section of people with an eye on retaining the existence of his party at least in a few districts. This reflected his divide and rule mentality, he alleged.
Karnik also lashed out at Siddaramaiah’s statement and said it aimed at sowing seeds of venom in the society. He also took strong exception to Siddaramaiah’s remarks that the Ram Mandir was being constructed on a disputed site.
District BJP General Secretary Sudhir Shetty Kannur, Spokesperson Ranadeep and others were present.
