Mangalore, April 15, 2014 : Ivan D’Souza, Congress Spokesperson and KPCC Secretary has charged BJP leaders Padmanabha Kottary and Nagaraj Shetty of trying to tarnish the image of the Congress and DK District in-charge Minister over the recent Kalladka clashes.

Speaking to reporters here on April 14, Monday, Ivan said the police have booked those responsible for the unrest during the Congress meet at Kalladka and that the Congress or the district minister have nothing to do with regard to the arrests.

“Some cases of voters being paid in exchange for theirs voter IDs  have been reported in Puttur and Sullia,” he said adding the Congress has already brought the matter to the notice of the Election Commission. The BJP is also pasting stickers saying ‘This is BJP house’ in the area. Though the matter has been brought to the notice of the Election Commission so far no action has been taken, Ivan said.

Ibrahim Kodijal, District Congress Interim President, Praveenchandra Alva, Corporator and others were present.
