Mangalore, Dec 25, 2011: D. V. Sadananda Gowda, the chief minister of Karnataka, landed at the Suratkal helipad on Dec 25 Sunday, the purpose of his visit being to inaugurate the Shrinivas Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre and the Shrinivas Hospital in Mukka. 


Answering reporters’ queries in a diplomatic way, he said that his recent visit to New Delhi to meet the BJP high command was just a procedure that had to be followed after his MLC victory. Although he revealed that he had participated in the BJP core committee meeting in New Delhi, refused to reveal details.

In response to reporters’ queries regarding reinstating Shriramulu into the BJP, he said that will not comment on this issue because it was up to the party to make a decision. When reporters asked him what he thought about former CM B. S. Yeddyurappa’s statement regarding the impossibility of collective leadership within the BJP, DVS stated that he believes in collective leadership. 


He also said that a central team had visited a few states all over India under the leadership of Vijaykumar and had observed that Karnataka had tackled drought and flood problems better than any other state. 


Regarding the appointment of the Lokayukta, he said that the government had already suggested Bannurmath for the post and that the ball is now in the governor’s court.
