It was in deed a rare event -  a wide cross section of the Sydney siders attended and enjoyed the multifaceted broad presentation with the author’s husband Ivan Mendonsa and son Neil  spearheading the event.

Author Lavina Mendonsa, was filled with sentiment and emotion and those present were thrilled to hear that in producing the book. writer Lavina Catherine, shares her love special for authentic Indian cuisine and the simple art of preparing food for  family and friends. Much of the inspiration behind the  recipes is drawn from her unique Mangalorean Catholic heritage and the staple  Mangalore rooted Indian cookbook, “The Chef” (’Randhpi’ in Konkani, the lingua franca) authored by Lavina’s grand-uncle, Isidore Coelho.

Over the past few years, Indian cuisine has burst into mainstream Australia and the west with the searing intensity and heat of a spicy curries and much more.  Readers will find that many of the recipes are very popular in Southern India, and this cookbook aims to teach many of the core techniques, skills and flavour combinations that are essential in preparing delicious Indian dishes. By following the simple instructions in the book, one will surely become a seasoned expert.  The joy of Indian cooking lies in the connecting of community through a warm meal. Lavina was taught to cook the traditional way at a young age by her  mother and grand-mother and by sharing this ancestral knowledge, the thoughtful lady  by this  cookbook has paved the way to relive those forgotten moments.

Author Lavina said, " You really don’t write a book alone and self-publishing my book has been an overwhelmingly positive experience. I could not have done it without the people who supported me emotionally, intellectually and physically.  It is with great excitement, I would also like to announce the launch  of my newly designed website that is just a click away. My goal was to create a user-friendly, easy to navigate website on your home PC, laptop or on your mobile and I hope you enjoy that special browsing experience. To learn more, please head to www.deliciouslyindian.net or www.deliciouslyindian.com.au. The website has a tab with information about various spices, a tab for some useful information on cooking techniques, a tab for news and publications and also a tab for purchasing the book directly through my website,"  Indeed it is a notable episode to know this book is available widely around the globe today.
