Audio clip row : SP Annamalai clarifies

Udupi, April 21, 2017 : An audio clip which is being circulated in social sites and has gone viral of late has forced Udupi’s former SP and present Chikkamagaluru SP Annamalai to come up with a clarification that one of the voices heard in the audio clip was not that of his as claimed by many.

SP Annamalai The audio clip of 13.45 minute duration has the voice of a constable attached to Malpe station who was recently suspended over an eve teasing row and was subsequently reinstated after the suspension kicked up a controversy.

The SP has in a press communique has urged people not to circulate the audio clip and said that a careful analysis had revealed that the conversation in the audio clip was between the constable Prakash and Shashidhar Venugopal, a former cop who also runs an unauthorised organisation of policemen. The latter has even uploaded the audio clip in his FB page using Sound Cloud Application on April 8, Annamalai stated.
