Addressing the gathering, Forum Convener T. R. Bhat termed the attack on Baba Ramdev and his followers “a shameful act” on the part of the central government, especially since Baba was protesting against corruption in the central government. He urged all the citizens of the country to condemn this attack and support Baba Ramdev and Anna Hazare in their fight against corruption.

He also said that the form has launched a Post Card Movement, in which the members of the forum will write messages condemning the police crack down on post cards and will send them to PM Manmohan Singh. The members will even supply post cards to the members of the public and will request them to write messages and post them to the PM. Around 1000 school and college students are expected to send post cards to the prime minister.

Members Vidhya Dinkar, Nithyananda Rao, Walter, Anand Rao, and many others were also present.

Meanwhile, the ABVP also organized a protest near Bunts Hotel.

B. R. Shah, an ABVP member, flayed the central government and said that the government, which usually takes a long time to make any decision, did not waste any time in cracking down on Baba Ramdev and his followers, who were peacefully protesting on Ramlila Maidan.

Assuring full ABVP support, he urged Anna Hazare and Baba Ramdev to continue their fight against corruption.
