Assault on police constable of Konaje Station accused arrested

Mangaluru, Sep 07, 2017: Police arrested one of the two accused who assaulted a police constable, Prem and home guard Ramesh when they were inspecting the vehicles on September 4 at Deralakatte junction.
The arrested, Ullal Mukkacheri resident, Izaz and his companion reportedly attacked the police constable and home guard as the police stopped the duo as they were on a two wheeler without headlight.
The police inspected the 2 wheeler and found that the vehicle doesn’t even bear a number plate. When the police on a suspicion asked the duo to produce the vehicle documents, the accused attacked the police constable and home guard before fleeing from the spot.
The police have been searching for another unidentified accused in connection with the assault case. Injured constable, Prem, is being treated in a hospital. A case stands registered at Konaje police station.
