Artists to take out protest procession today, Sept 16

Mangaluru, Sep 16,2015 : Artists troubled over the district administration’s reported removal of two fibre statues placed by them against the Yettinahole project at Clock Tower Circle Sept 14,   have decided to take those two statutes in a procession from the office of the  DK DC to Lalbagh,  4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sept 16.

 According to the activists, leaflets having 10 questions to the government on the project will be distributed along the road.    Of the statues installed by the activists, one was a demon-like character with a sword, symbolising political system while the other one was a lady symbolising the Nethravati. After the activists installed them at the circle early Sept 14,  officials got them removed it is said. Later  activists re-installed them at the same spot  with the ‘Ettina Hole Uttara Needi’ board for public.

Dinesh Holla, convener, Sahyadri Sanchaya, questioned the officials action and said that many illegal hoardings in the city had been left undisturbed.  The statues had been installed for a social cause to create awareness among people on the project was removed.

The activists removed the statue late on Sept 15 from the circle and have kept them ready them for the procession/protest on Sept 16,  Wednesday.
