Mangalore, April 5: Nearly 3800 candidates have been screened so far at the army recruitment rally said Colonel C R Deshpand, the Director of Army Recruiting office, Mangalore.

Speaking to mangaloretoday he said that recruitment process to fill various vacant posts began on Tuesday, April 4 and will be continued till April 10. The recruitment rally is being held for the candidates from Dakshina kannada district Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, Shimoga, Kodagu, Hassan, Udupi, Davanagere, Chikmagalur, Chitradurga, Bijapur and Dharwad districts for Sol GD, Sol GD (SMP) & Sol GD (DSC) cat only and for Sol Tech, Sol CLK/ SKT and Sol NA cat.


The recruitment is being held under the aegis of Recruiting Zone Bangalore. This is the first rally of recruiting year 2011-2012 of the recruiting cycle 2010-2012, he added.


He said that the rally is drawing a good response and the recruitment rally will be absolutely transparent.  The candidates will first undergo a physical fitness test, which requires them to run a mile, perform pull ups, jump across a 9ft ditch, and walk across a horizontal bar, he said.


 The candidates will also have to undergo a written test, medical tests and meritorious students will be enrolled into the army.

 

 

 

 

 

Medically fit candidates would then be eligible to appear for the written examination. Candidates are required to submit their SSLC, PUC, nativity certificates, caste-cum-character certificate, conduct certificate and NCC certificate.


Brigadier MM Gupta, YSM Deputy Director General, HQ Recruiting Zone, Bangalore was present at the press meet.


A number of aspirants, who came from various districts to take part in the test, are waiting for their turn. One of the ITI aspirant Praveen from Dharwad has taken the token slip the previous day and completed the physical test and waiting for the medical test to be held tomorrow.
