Mangaluru, May 10, 2020: Over 1,000 labourers left for Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh by the Shramik Special Train from the Mangaluru Junction Railway Station on May 10, Sunday afternoon at 1 pm. Yet another special train will leave for Khagariya in Bihar at around 4 pm today.
It may be recalled here that on Saturday nearly 1,168 labourers left for Jarkhand from Mangaluru Junction. The labourers were brought to the station by KSRTC buses.
It has been gathered from official sources that each migrant worker has been asked to pay Rs 960 for the journey. All those who have registered in the state government’s Seva Sindhu portal are allowed to travel to their native places in the special trains.
