Another Covid-19 positive case in Bantwal

Mangaluru, April 21, 2020: A 67 year old woman, who is the immediate neighbour of the woman from Bantwal  who died of Covid-19 on Sunday, has been tested positive on Tuesday. With this the tally of Covid-19 cases in Dakshina Kannada has   risen to 16. The information was provided by Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh.

The woman is a resident of Kasba village in Bantwal and was admitted to Wenlock Hospital  and her throat swab sample sent for  test on Sunday itself  has confirmed that she is positive.

The administration has  already sealed Kasba village and has declared it a containment zone after the death of a  woman due to Coronavirus on Sunday.

As of now there are three active Covid-19 cases in Dakshina Kannada. So far 12 patients have been discharged.

The administration also got case registered against a private medical practitioner in Bantwal for treating P-390 for nearly five days before her condition worsened, under sections 269 and 270 of IPC with the taluk health officer Deepa Prabhu filing a complaint in Bantwal town police station.
