Udupi, Shirva, Feb 3: The annual feast of Our Lady of Health (Saus Sabinnichem Festh) was celebrated on 3rd February, 2010 at Shirva. The Vice President of the Parish Pastrol Council, Mr Nobert Machado , was leading the procession holding the cross. Including twenty four priest from different perish of the Udupi Varado were also took part in the procession. A fantastic arrangement was made for the large number of devotees to celebrate the feast, in front of the church.

During the function, the theme of this year annual feast ‘Unity’ was detailed by the chief celebrant of the solemn annual feast Mass was Rev. Dr. Victor Machado, Rector of St. Joseph’s Seminary, Mangalore. He elaborated that the where there is unity, god lives there. For the purpose of unity, the almighty created this world and corroborated that there has been disunity in the world, not because of God but because of the human beings. Pointing out the difference between staying together and living together and hoped the parish community should be like a family. On this eve, he gave stress on the need to build up Basic Christian Communities in every parish to foster the sense of unity and togetherness.

Fr. Richard Coelho, the parish priest of Shirva, thanked the chief celebrant, Rev Dr. Victor Machado and other guest priests, who were present at the function. He also mentioned the names of those who helped to run the church annual function smoothly.
